ABOUT US
fighting for the rights of queer people,
supporting LGBTIQ+ refugees
Queeramnesty stands for equality, empowerment, and inclusion. We are a group of volunteers committed to raising awareness around queer matters, supporting LGBTIQ+ refugees, and advocating for their rights.
We are a Non-Profit Organization and part of Amnesty International Switzerland - which is a worldwide movement and organization that is fighting for Human Rights. Its vision is a world in which Human Rights are equally in place for everyone.
We are working together with various Partner Organizations.
OUR STORY
Queeramnesty Switzerland is part of the Swiss section of Amnesty International, with which we work closely together. We are about 600 members in whole Switzerland, who are the foundation of our group. All of us are volunteers. Our group exists since 1997.
OUR TEAMS & OPEN POSITIONS
Focus Refugees
We are committed to ensuring that LGBTIQ+ refugees receive the necessary social, advisory, and legal support. As part of this working group, we work to facilitate the refugees' daily lives and help them find their way in Switzerland. The goal of our group is to improve the situation of LGBTIQ+ refugees in Switzerland and help them to live in a safe environment. We believe that everyone has the right to a life free from discrimination and persecution. Together, we can make a difference and help ensure that LGBTIQ+ asylum seekers receive the support they need to start a new life in Switzerland.
Campaigns & Politics Team
This working group focuses on content and activities for individual countries. Volunteers organize events and activities based on the country's focus and network with other organizations. The group offers an opportunity to get involved in specific countries and gain valuable experience by networking with other organizations.
Editorial Team
The Editorial Team writes, translates, and revises texts and publications. Together with other volunteers, we manage our social media presence and write various articles for our own Queeramnesty magazine. The articles cover a wide range of topics but are usually related to queer rights.
