Since Donald Trump's re-election as US president, queer rights in the United States have come under pressure to an extent that would have been unimaginable just a short time ago. In this issue, we provide an overview of the most important events and speak with a queer American woman in Switzerland about her experience of these developments.
Among the many queer refugees we accompany during their asylum process here is a young gay man from Myanmar. He experienced horrific things in his Southeast Asian homeland and tells us his story – and how stressful his current uncertain status is for him.
You'll also find an overview of the many Pride celebrations taking place in Switzerland this year on the last page. Queeramnesty will be marching alongside queer refugees in Zurich and Bern. Now that our hard-won rights are suddenly being attacked and questioned again in many places, it's all the more important that we are at least as active and vocal as our opponents. Will you be there too?
