Aufruf gegen homo- und transphobe Gewalt in Perú
Info und Aufruf auf Englisch und Spanisch Some recent events in Perú have come to our attention and we would like you all to be aware of this incident... On January 28th in Tarapoto Perú, Techi (Jose Paredes), a transvestite was chased down and abused by a neighborhood organization called Puerto Azul in Tarapoto city, located in the San Martin region of Peru. Although in Peru prostitution is legal, Techi was detained by the group while she was with a client. She was beaten, stripped, her hair was cut and she was forced to do physical exercise until she collapsed. All this was captured on camara and you can see it at the following link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kB_wfD0fJrA The Homosexual Movement of Lima (MHOL) has informed us that LGBT activists in Tarapoto walked Techi to the Ombudsman office and to the police station to present the case. Following is a joint statement by LGBT organizations and activists... Statement regarding abuse in Tarapoto By: JAVIER HERNAN BAZALAR TOLENTI As groups and activists that defend human rights and the dignity of trans, gays, lesbians and bisexuals, we demand punishment of those responsible for abusing 'Techi'; we demand that the, cities, local governments, and the central government, professionally, and in accordance to the law, carry out their function of guaranteeing public order as well as develop campaigns against homophobia and others encouraging respect for differences. FOR RESPECTING DIFFERENCES AND AGAINST HOMOPHOBIC ABUSE Statement by the LGBT organizations and activists in Perú With profound indignation we have watched the video clips released by the station América TV, those that show the brutal and cowardice aggression against the victim Techi, whose legal name is José Paredes, a cross dresser working in the sex industry in Tarapoto, Perú . The attackers, members of the neighborhood group Puerto Azul y Señor de los Milagros, considered that the beatings and humiliation to which they subjected José were "deserved", and felt that their behavior was "fair", in acting on the need to "elimniate prostitution". Lets remember that, by Peruvian law, prostitution is not illegal.. Its worrying that this group of people feel they have the right to judge and punish, a task that corresponds only to the state, and a process that should be carried out according to legal protocol, taking into account the differences between misdemeanors and felonies, into which crimes are organized and thus given due process of law. However, the reality that the crude images have shown us is an absolute lack of respect for the dignity of a human being, whose only true "crime" is living according to the gender with which he feels identified, and of which working in the sex trade could possibly be a direct result, considerning the marginalization and exclusion he suffers for being different, leaving few option available to him. Furthermore, given that prostitution is not a crime, those that partake in this occupation are not criminals and should not be treated as so. Even though neighborhood groups participated effectively in the fight against terrorism in the past, we have abundant information surrounding the actual circumstances in order to suspect that they have turned into an instrument by which a particular, narrow minded idea of the world is imposed, perpetuating judgements and irrational hatred. Its not acceptable to abuse someone just because they are different, just because one cannot adjust to the idea that someone is "good" or "bad" according to personal standards. The groups and activists, we who defend the rights of trans, lesbians, gays, and bisexuals demand: - That Techi's aggressors are punished. - That government institutions, city wide, regional and nation wide, carry out their duty to guarantee public order, professionally and according to the law. - That the government institutions, city wide, regional and nation wide initiate campaigns against homophobia and in favor of respecting differences. POR EL RESPECTO A LA DIFERENCIA Y CONTRA LA VIOLENCIA HOMOFOBICA Pronunciamiento de las organizaciones y activistas travestis, gays, lesbianas y bisexuales del Perú Con profunda indignación hemos visto las imágenes emitidas en el noticiero de América TV en las cuales se muestra la brutal y cobarde agresión de la que fue víctima Techi, cuyo nombre legal es José Paredes, una persona travesti que ejerce el trabajo sexual en la ciudad de Tarapoto. Los agresores, integrantes de la Junta Vecinal de Puerto Azul y Señor de los Milagros, consideraron la golpiza y vejación de que hicieron objeto a José como “merecida”, y sienten que su acción fue “justa”, aduciendo la necesidad de “erradicar la prostitución”. Recordemos que, para la ley peruana, la prostitución no es un delito. Es preocupante que este grupo de personas pretenda irrogarse la capacidad de juzgar y castigar, capacidad que sólo corresponde al Estado y que debe ejercerse de acuerdo a la ley, tomando en cuenta la diferencia entre faltas y delitos, así como la proporción del castigo. Sin embargo, la realidad que nos muestran las crudas imágenes es la absoluta falta de respeto por la dignidad de una persona cuyo único verdadero "delito" es vivir de acuerdo a la identidad de género que siente como propia y que, si ejerce el trabajo sexual, puede deberse a que la marginación y exclusión que sufre por ser diferente no le deja más opciones. En todo caso, dado que la prostitución no es delito, quienes la ejercen no son delincuentes y no pueden ser tratados como tales. Aunque las rondas vecinales cumplieron una efectiva labor durante la lucha contra el terrorismo, tenemos abundante información respecto de que, en las actuales circunstancias, pueden convertirse en un instrumento con el que se intenta imponer una cierta visión estrecha del mundo, perpetuando prejuicios y odios irracionales. No se puede violentar impunemente a una persona por el sólo hecho de ser diferente, por el sólo hecho de no ajustarse a la idea de lo que una persona o personas crean que es “bueno” o “malo”. El horrendo hecho fue captado en video y publicado por el Noticiero Edición Central. El suceso ha puesto rostro a la latente homofobia que viven los gays en el Perú, quienes, según organizaciones que velan por los derechos humanos de esa minoría social en este país, son expulsados de escuelas, iglesias, del seno familiar y rechazados por sus respectivas comunidades debido a su identidad sexual. El travesti, solo identificado como Techi, intentó escapar de la brutal persecución pero luego fue atrapado por los miembros de la junta de vecinos quienes hacen rondas nocturnas todos los días para erradicar la prostitución en la zona.

überfallen und auf grausame Weise missbraucht und gefoltert. All dies hielte die Täter auf einem Youtube Video fest.
